Karl Johnson: Head Coach

Coach Johnson and his wife Beth live in Dublin with their three children; Brian, Kelly, and Erin. Beth is beginning her 28th year as a first grade teacher at Worthington Hills Elementary in Worthington, Ohio.

Coach Johnson is beginning his seventeenth year as head coach at Dublin Scioto High School and 28th year teaching in Dublin. Prior to becoming the head coach of the Irish football program, Coach Johnson enjoyed thirteen years as an assistant coach in the Dublin City Schools. Karl began coaching in Dublin in 1987 while completing his bachelorís degree from The Ohio State University where he also earned a masterís degree in administration in 2002.

During his 16 year tenure as head coach the Irish are 103-73, have won three OCC Championships and have qualified for the playoffs eight times. Over 85 seniors from the Irish football program have gone on to continue playing football in college, including 23 division 1 players. As well, four players have or are still playing in the NFL. Nick Goings - Carolina Panthers, Jay Richardson - Oakland Raiders, Bradley McDougald - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (active), Deji Olatoye - Dallas Cowboys (active). Coach Johnson is also very proud of his players military service - with former players serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Karl has also been selected as league and district coach of the year on multiple occasions during his tenure and has been very active in the local and state football coaches associations.

Coach Johnson works in the intervention programs and coordinates Dublin Sciotoís online learning programs.

Jim Schafer: Assistant Head Coach, Secondary

Coach Schafer begins his 25th year teaching in the Dublin City School system. Jim is beginning his 16th year of teaching Social Studies at Scioto High School. He currently teaches History of the Americas in the International Baccalaureate program. This is also Coach Schaferís 17th year on the Scioto football staff. Jim also has had coaching stints at Dublin Coffman High School, Sells Middle School, and Otterbein College. Jim graduated from Painesville Riverside High School in 1985. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1990. Jimís wife, Jennifer, is the librarian at Sells Middle School. He is also the proud father of Scioto Irish alum Jacob, who is junior football player at Otterbein University and studying secondary science education, and Justin who is a sophomore education major at The Ohio State University.

Doug Tima: Offensive Line

Coach Doug Tima, Otterbein graduate, is in his 9th year with the Irish. Coach Tima teaches IB Physics and Physical Science at Dublin Scioto High School. Coach Tima graduated from Bucyrus High School in 2003 where he played football and basketball. He received a BS in Physical Science and AYA Education from Otterbein College in 2007, where he was a four-year letterman, first team all OAC player, and captain on the football team. Coach Tima recently received his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton. Coach Tima resides in Westerville with his wife Jessica.

Alex Place: Defensive Coordinators, Linebackers

Alex Place is in his sixth year as an assistant coach. Coach Place is a graduate of Archbishop Alter High School in 2007. Coach Place received his bachelor's degree in Sports Management and his Masterís degree in Education from The Ohio State University. Coach Place is currently a Title I Math teacher at Davis Middle School. Alex has also spent the last seven baseball seasons as an assistant coach at Scioto and head 8th grade coach at Davis Middle School. Coach Place resides in Dublin with his wife Ashley.

Jason Rice: Running Backs, Special Teams Coordinator

Jason Rice is in his fifth season with the Irish. Jason is a 2006 graduate of Dublin Scioto High School where he was a three-year starter as well as a senior captain. He was a key member of the 2003, 2004, and 2005 playoff teams. Coach Rice is also a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green State University where he played football and majored in education. He is in his fifth year teaching social studies at Dublin Jerome. Coach Rice resides in Lewis Center with his wife Lauryn.

Drew Stagg: Wide Receivers

Coach Stagg is a graduate of Walsh University where he played both defensive and offensive line. This is his 8th year with the Irish and his first year as the receivers coach for Scioto. Previously Drew was the Irish head freshmen coach. Coach Stagg teaches 7th grade Ancient World History at Davis Middle School. Coach Stagg has a bachelorís degree in Education with a focus on integrated social studies. He also has his masters degree in curriculum and instruction, and a masters degree in educational leadership from Miami University. Coach Stagg resides in Powell.

John Witt: Defensive Line

Coach Witt is beginning his 13th year as a teacher, advisor, and coach at Dublin Scioto. Coach Witt is a graduate of Westerville South High School and The Ohio State University. Coach Witt and his wife Kortney reside in Westerville with their four children Hannah, Zachary, Emma, and Gracie.

Dave Nosker: Volunteer Assistant

Coach Nosker will begin his 17th season with the Irish and 35th season coaching football in Dublin. Dave is a graduate of The Ohio State University and received his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Ashland University. Coach Nosker spent three years in the Canadian Football League, playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1969-1972. His wife George Ann is the Registrar at Dublin Jerome High School. Dave and George Ann reside in Dublin and have two children and 3 grandchildren. Michael has a daughter Mackenzie who will be in the fourth grade at Deer Run Elementary. Nichole and her husband (Andy) have two children, Carson and Madison.

Jon Torski: Secondary

Jon Torski is in his ninth year coaching for the Irish. Jon is a 2007 graduate of Dublin Scioto and returns to the Irish for the 2016 season. Coach Torski is a 2012 graduate of THE Ohio State University with a degree in business finance and is currently working on his teaching certificate at Capital University. Coach Torski resides in Clintonville with his fiancť Megan Beach.

Pete Beale: Volunteer Assistant

Pete Beale is in his 17th year of assisting the Irish. He has been a friend of the program for 25+ years as all three of his children are graduates of the Dublin Schools. Pete is employed at Scioto High School as the Security Monitor. Pete and his wife Sherri are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren that all reside in the Columbus area.

Director of Athletic Development/Assistant O-Line Coach

Coach Jones is starting his fourth year with the Irish, running our strength and conditioning program. The Jonesí family relocated to the Columbus area from South Carolina where Arby taught and coached at Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, SC. Coach Jones graduated from Wake Forest University in 2006, where he was a three year starter on the offensive line and was a part of the Demon Deacons ACC Championship and Orange Bowl teams. Coach Jones teaches Physical Education & Health at Scioto and lives in Westerville with his wife Kim and their two sons, Liam & Sullivan.

Andrew Williams: Head Freshmen Coach

Andrew Williams is beginning his first year with the Dublin Scioto program. Coach Williams is a 2008 graduate of North Baltimore High School, where he was a two-year captain on the football team and first-team all-league selection on defense as a senior. He is in his eighth season as an assistant coach, with stints at North Baltimore, Bloomdale, Elmwood, Kansas Lakota and Pandora-Gilboa, as well as Clearwater High School in Florida. He is a 2012 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a minor in Coaching Education. Andrew lives in Worthington with his fiance Alyssa.

Blake Moeller: Freshmen Assistant

Coach Moeller is starting his Second year with the Irish. Coach Moeller was a graduate of Dublin Sciotoís 2015 class where played football for four years. Coach Moeller is currently going to Columbus State and resides in Dublin.

Mitch Winters: Freshmen Assistant

Coach Winters is starting his second year as an assistant freshman coach for Dublin Scioto. Coach Winters graduated in 2015vand played four years of football for the Irish. Coach Winters is attending The Ohio State University and lives in Dublin.

Isaac Hodge: Freshmen Volunteer

Coach Hodge is starting his second year as an assistant freshman coach for Dublin Scioto. Coach Hodge graduated in 2015 and played football for the Irish. Coach Hodge is attending Columbus State and lives in Dublin.

Alan Goodhue: Freshmen Assistant

Coach Goodhue is starting his first year as an assistant freshman coach for Dublin Scioto. He is a Dublin Scioto graduate and played for the Irish. Coach Goodhue is attending Columbus State to get a degree in American Sign Language interpreting and resides in Dublin.

Jon Carlier: Freshmen Assistant

Coach Carlier is starting his first year as an assistant freshman coach for Dublin Scioto. Coach Carlier is a graduate of Martins Ferry High School. Coach Carlier is also a graduate of Waynesburg University where he played four years of varsity football and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education. Coach Carlier will be entering his first year as a teacher at The Charles School in Columbus Ohio. Coach Carlier resides in Dublin.
